2023 Waldron Shale Project Information and Application

The Waldron Shale Project: Fossil Identification and Analysis for K-12 Science Classrooms is one of the programs the Falls of the Ohio Foundation is proud to support. This workshop trains teachers and environmental science educators to perform hands-on inquiry-based lessons using fossils in their classrooms.

Participants will receive: 

a day-long professional development paleontology workshop at Bellarmine University

a bulk sample of fossiliferous shale

a kit of classroom supplies including a digital microscope and

ongoing professional support from Dr. Bulinski and Mr. Goldstein.
